European Economy – Banks, Regulation, and the Real Sector is Back!

We are pleased to announce that we stepped in as the new publisher of the journal European Economy – Banks, Regulation and the Real Sector. We would like to thank Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo and the Bank of Italy for their generous support.

Read online the new issue: Banking and Covid
From the editorial desk: Giorgio Barba Navaretti, Giacomo Calzolari, Alberto Franco Pozzolo and José Manuel Mansilla-Fernández.

The 2021.1 issue discusses the impact of the Covid-19 outbreak on the banking industry and the real economy. The papers assess the supportive role of banks to the recovery and the liquidity of non-financial institutions, the regulatory initiatives adopted to boost credit and support the real sector, the “exit strategy” from the pandemic crisis and emergency policies, and contributes to the debate about the future of banks and of a well-developed Capital Market Union in Europe.

European Economy – Banks, Regulation and the Real Sector is an online journal to foster an informal and fair debate among academics, institutional representatives, and bankers on the current banking regulation framework and its effects on banking activity and the real economy.

The format of the journal will be maintained. The new and the old issues can be downloaded from: https://european-economy.eu/
